This site sets out the rules between Inaset paper brand and you, as a participant, in The Inaset Awards, organised by The Navigator Company.

By applying to compete in The Inaset Awards you agree to comply with and be bound by the rules listed below. The Navigator Company reserves the right to change these rules at any time without prior notice. Any amended rules will be posted on this website. This updated version by The Navigator Company is applicable as from November 27th, 2017.

1. Sponsor

The Inaset Awards are sponsored by Inaset paper, a brand of The Navigator Company. Employees of The Navigator Company, their respective advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household are NOT eligible to participate in the Competition.

2. Aim

The Inaset Awards competition has been created with the aim of recognising the best printed works on Inaset’s paper range – namely Inaset Plus Offset, Inaset Plus Laser and Inaset Plus Digital – and the Designers and Printers who create these works. Our jury panel is looking for creative excellence in the conception and execution of printed works on Inaset paper.

3. Rules Agreement

a) By participating in this competition, you agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these Rules, and you confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements listed below. Also, you agree to accept the decisions of The Navigator Company, as final and binding with regard to its content. The Competition is subject to all applicable laws.

b) Your application to enter the competition and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it shall be determined in accordance with the Portuguese law.

c) You agree that, subject as provided below, the Portuguese legal system shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim instituted by you against The Navigator Company arising out of or in connection with your application. No legal matter in this clause shall limit the right of The Navigator Company to take proceedings against you in any other court(s) of competent jurisdiction.

4. Eligibility

The Inaset Awards competition is open exclusively to those who apply on the website at and who are 18 years or older as of the date of entry. The Competition will begin at 00:00 A.M. (GMT) on November 29th, 2017 and will end at 11:59 P.M. (GMT) on January 31st, 2018.

5. How to Enter

a) Only entries from teams of Designer(s) and Printer(s) will be accepted. Each competing team must have at least one designer and one printer. It is permitted to include teams with more than one designer and/or printer. In these cases, you must appoint a representative for the Designers and another for the Printers. Should the application be successful, the prizes will be awarded to each one of the representatives.

b) Both print works specially created for this competition as well as previously produced works (on Inaset paper) will be accepted.

c) The entry will be evaluated both from a production and conception perspective. Both the Printer (person/company responsible for the production) and the Designer (person/company responsible for its conception) will receive prizes.

d) Applications for The Inaset Awards must be submitted using the online form provided on this competition website at The application must fulfil all Competition requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize.

e) You can submit as many entries as you like.

f) All the applications must be in English.

g) Incomplete entries or ones that do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of The Navigator Company. Any form of plagiarism or the presentation of intentionally unauthentic ideas and solutions may lead to immediate disqualification. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules your submission may be considered ineligible at the sole discretion of The Navigator Company.

6. Application Requirements

Mandatory requirements for valid applications are:

a) Name of the printed work;
b) Name of the Designer or Company responsible for the work’s conception;
c) Name of the Printer responsible for the work’s production;
d) A project brief of the work. Participants should give information on the challenges of the brief in question, the solution devised and the final result;
e) Images of the printed work. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG and PDF files. You must provide an URL Address to your project and a .ZIP file from share file service;
f) A proof that the work submitted to the competition is printed on Inaset paper (work’s technical information);
g) A statement of responsibility that your entry will not infringe the rights, (including any intellectual property rights) of any third party. If the work is owned by a third party the secondary participant must have the owners’s express authorisation to use the work in this competition.

7. Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be judged and scored on:

a) Use of Inaset paper.
– Test labs to verify that the paper used is from the Inaset paper brand range.

b) Quality in the print execution, regarding:
– Technical expertise and print quality;
– Image definition, precision and sharpness;
– Colour quality and vividness.

c) Appropriate use of techniques, design, media, creativity for the application, involving:
– Choice of paper and print techniques to meet the objectives of the project;
– Job complexity;
– Creativity, Aesthetic appeal;
– Originality.

8. Applications’ Acceptance

a) In order to be accepted, applications must be in total compliance with the competition’s mandatory requirements.

b) Candidates will be notified within 48 working hours by email if their application has been successful or not.

9. Shortlisted Entries

a) The Navigator Company will select 30 projects, from the total eligible proposals, as The Inaset Awards 2018 edition finalists.

b) The shortlisted proposals (30 in total) selected by The Navigator Company will be revealed on February 12th, 2018 at

c) The shortlisted candidates will be notified by e-mail and will have until March 2nd, 2018 to send, for jury evaluation and lab tests, the original work as well as a photocopy of the ID Card or Passport from each member of the team, by post to Inaset Paper – Rua do Pólo Norte, n.º 16 – P1.2, 1990-226 Lisboa-Portugal. If the required documents are not received by this deadline, the proposal will be disqualified.

d) The 30 shortlisted projects will be assessed by an independent jury, who will elect the winners based on the above mentioned evaluation criteria.

10. Winner Selection and Notification

a) The entries will be judged by independent advisors and industry experts selected by The Navigator Company.All decisions made by this group will be considered final.

d) Prizes will be awarded in a ceremony at The Navigator Company’s headquarters, in Portugal. The Navigator Company shall cover the winner’s expenses related to travel and accommodation.

e) Winners will be notified via the e-mail address they have submitted on the their application form.

f) The Navigator Company shall bear no liability for a winner’s failure to receive notifications due to their spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for the winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information.

g) The Navigator Company is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winners.

h) If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to acknowledge notification, or fails to comply with any term or condition of these Competition Conditions, a prize may be forfeited, and an alternative winner may be selected.

11. Prizes

The Top 3 (three) printed works selected by the jury will receive the following prizes:

1st place: 1 Apple Macbook Pro 15-inch for each member or representative of the winning team.
2nd place: 1 Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch for each member or representative of the winning team.
3rd place: 1 Canon PowerShot SX720 HS for each member or representative of the winning team.

The prize is nontransferable and must be accepted as awarded. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for The Navigator Company to use winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation unless prohibited by law, as outlined above (Copyright and Guarantees).

The competition organiser is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

The winners must provide an official identification document and sign a receipt where the competing entity, the award winner and the prize amount is stipulated.

12. Copyright and Guarantees

a) By entering this competition, you declare that your entry will not infringe the rights (including any intellectual property rights) of any third party. If your entry features any person(s) or company(s), you must ensure that their permission has been obtained for use in the application (or where such a person is under 18, the consent of their parent or guardian).

b) In case of your application being accepted to the competition, you thereby grant The Navigator Company an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence for the full period of copyright to publish or otherwise use your entry in any way and at any time so far as such use is connected:

– or to The Navigator Company; and to sub-licence such rights to any third party.

c) The Navigator Company (or any party who is a sub-licensee of The Navigator Company a), above) may cut, edit, crop or arrange your entry as it sees fit.

d) The Navigator Company and/or its partners will not be held responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged entries before, during or after the awards.

e) Participants declare that their entry’s conception, execution and application do not infringe any copyright, patent, design, trademark, utility model or any other third party rights.

13. Data Protection

Personal data collected during this promotion is limited to the minimum needed to enter the competition. Furthermore, this information will not be available to third parties. The Navigator Company agrees to protect the participants’ personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, disclosure or unauthorised access, as required by the 67/98 Portuguese Act of October 26, Article 14.

The Navigator Company has appropriate measures in place to ensure that the participant’s personal details are not misused, accidentally destroyed, lost or altered within this promotion.

The Navigator Company authorises you, under the 67/98 Portuguese Act of October 26, Article 11, to access, update or remove your personal data at any time. We consider it of utmost importance that you can change/delete your personal information or your e-mail address should you wish to do so.
